Introduction

Trautson Pince Kft. - Producer’s association
Trautson Prince Kft. was established for the purpose of building a brand that ensures a unified appearance and action through the association of the grape and wine producers of the Hercegkút village, located within the wine region of the Tokaj Mountains. With the strength of both cooperation and cohesion, and with a unified approach this brand can be present more effectively on the world market, facilitating this way the access of grape and wine producers to the market, the safe sale and purchase of the produced grapes. Out of the company's 41 members 32 are agricultural producers– including 4 small wine factory and wineries – have decades of professional experience and background in grape production and the production of quality Tokaj wines.
TWith our company name we commemorate Prince Trautson, who founded our settlement by inviting Swabian settlers during the 1750s, and the former name of our settlement - Trautsondorf.
Our fundamental goal is to find a pathway for our products on both domestic and foreign markets with a unified approach and image, by using our world heritage cellar lines and good foreign relations, thus making the farming of our producers stable and safe, as well as the financial security of the residents of the settlement.
Tokaji Prince
We derived the name-idea of our brand from the Tokaj wine region and the word "duke" contained within the name of our settlement, and the duke's crown – once dreamed up as a logo – was put together from the symbolic marking of the cellar entrances referring to our cellar lines and the grape hills located above it.
We would like to deliver and target our products to as wide a range of customers as possible, therefor we offer our wines and other bottled products with labels and variations made in 3 different styles, so that anyone interested can find the one attractive and pleasing appearance for the individual.

Our cellar lines
Gombos Hill cellar line and Kőporosi cellar line
The most renowned buildings of our settlement are the Gombos-hegyi (Gombos hill) cellars and the Kőporos cellars, which are unique not just among the wine regions of the Tokaj Wine Region, but perhaps even in all of Hungary, in that they are located on 4 levels above each other, as a series of cellars with unified look.
In 2002, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee added the historic wine region of Tokaj-Hegyalja to the prestigious World Heritage List in the category of cultural landscape, and even named our unique historic cellar rows – which are the same age as the village itself – as a folk architectural monument.
At the southeastern end of the village, the majority of cellars carved into the side of Gombos-hegy (Gombos Hill) consist of one or two branches, but there are also a few three-branched ones, there are currently 93 cellars on Gombos Hill standing in four regular rows one above the other. There are additional 85 cellars in the Kőporos cellars carved into the hillsides at the north-western end of the village, which are in many respects similar to the ones at Gombos-hegy, most of them however are single-branched and shorter too.
